I just finished unpacking all of my luggage after a long journey and good night's sleep. My bed is pretty firm, but I was so tired it didn't matter. I am attaching some pictures of my apartment. I need to get some frames for some pictures/artwork I brought so it looks a little more homey. The walls are pretty bare right now. I am on the second floor of an apartment building reserved solely for teachers at the school. I got to choose which floor I wanted. I've met one other teacher and the principal, so far. Some other teachers arrived last night after I did, so I haven't met them yet. We are expecting a few more to arrive today, and then the rest to arrive next week. We are touring the school today, so I will let you know how that is later today or tomorrow. But for now, here are some pics I took of my apartment:
This is a pic of my desk where I am writing this blog.
My bedroom turned office...where I can iron my clothes while surfing the net ;)
Guest bathroom (you can't see the shower from this angle)
Master bathroom.
Shower in master bathroom (identical to other bathroom).
My bedroom (from doorway)
My bed...they provided the comforter and sheets and pillows. I brought the quilt on the end, the pink pillow, and the teddy bear :) I'm thinking of taking him to school with me to be our classroom mascot or something.
Huge cabinets/closets are in every "bedroom". I have more storage space than I know what to do with!
My dresser/vanity. The mirror slides to provide storage behind it.
My bedroom turned dining room.
Kitchen/laundry room...no dishwasher so I wash dishes by hand.
Another view of the kitchen...my fridge wasn't working this morning, but it is now. I haven't tried out the stove yet...I'm a little nervous since it is gas. They gave us plenty of dishes, pots, silverware, a toaster, a microwave, a blender, etc.
The view of my living room from the front door.
Other view of living room...TV gets about 70 channels, some of which are repeats, some of which are FOX movie channels, and a channel that gets the Ellen Degeneres show (it was on this morning).
The view from my balcony...unfortunately the building across the way looks abandoned and run down since it has broken windows.
From the living room looking down the hall to my bedroom...the kitchen is the first door on the left, followed by a bathroom...the dining room is the first door on the right, followed by my "office".
Looking from my bedroom doorway down the hall to the living room...just so you can get the idea of the layout of the place.
